You can now complete your transactions on Jumia using Airtel Money after Airtel Kenya and Jumia today announced a partnership.

This makes Kenya the third market where Jumia and Airtel Kenya are collaborating after the same happened in Ghana and Uganda.

Speaking to the media, Nelly Movine, Jumia’s Head of Financial Services said, “Millions of Kenyans rely on mobile money daily to make fast payments. By expanding our payment options to include Airtel money, it will make it easier for more consumers to incorporate online shopping as part of their daily transactions.”

With more and more people moving to eCommerce platforms, this partnership is seen to make online payments seamless at the same time driving the use of Airtel money in the market.

Mpesa has been the leader of online payments and Airtel money seems to look to market itself as an alternative means of payment.

How to use Airtel Money at Checkout on Jumia

To use Airtel Money checkout, enter your Airtel number when paying, get a USSD push, enter your Airtel Money PIN, and then hit send.

Airtel continues to grow going by the latest data from the Communications Authority of Kenya (CCK). According to CCK, Airtel Money has over 329,000 registered users who transacted 351 million shillings between customers to the business in the first quarter of the year.
